Rio
de Janeiro is among the cities that are best prepared to host
major congresses; the Riocentro Convention Center has been
totally renovated, ready to welcome orthopedists from Brazil
and all over the world.
Its
scientific and social activities, as well as accommodation
and recreation options, will be clustered in the neighboring
Barra da Tijuca region. With two major airports and highway
connections to the rest of Brazil, Rio offers countless arrival
and departure options.

Dear Colleagues,
Supported
by the SBOT Specialty Committees, the Scientific Committee
is doing its utmost to draw up a Scientific Program addressing
topics of more general interest to orthopedists, while still
reserving time and space for discussions that explore the
boundaries of knowledge in each of our sub-specialties. The
Congress will offer a wide variety of options, ranging from
the usual courses, symposia and free theme presentations to
innovative approaches such as round tables comparing evidence
with experience when dealing with clinical situations in daily
practice, in addition to setting aside sessions presenting
unusual cases for discussion with highly experienced colleagues.
Encouraged by an enthusiastic reception at the Porto Alegre
Congress, there will be three Specialty Days where attendees
can enroll for up to six different Specialty Programs. We
look forward to welcoming you at Brazil’s leading orthopedics
event, which has achieved this impressive status ? acknowledged
among the world’s largest in our field ? through the
maturation and high scientific level reached by Brazilian
orthopedics as a whole and with your participation, which
is the raison d’être of SBOT. We hope to see you
in Rio de Janeiro.
